What could be better than this plate of happy hour poutine at Comme Ca? More space to enjoy it. I stopped for a quick cocktail at the Melrose restaurant yesterday, and learned that a few cosmetic changes are afoot. Come early October, the cheese bar will be gone with new banquettes in its place, plus more tables and seating for the bar area. It will be business as usual during construction, which begins this week, so you can still go in for The Hourglass Menu–the place might not look pretty, but the cocktails and food (all under $10) are totally worth it.
I love a great happy hour, but I rarely get to hit them. I don’t work in a central area, so driving through rush-hour traffic for a cheap cocktail isn’t going to relax me after a long day. But I was in West Hollywood killing time between two appointments yesterday, so I stopped in for a drink. I was surprised to see three delicious ones offered for only $6–the Kentucky Crush is like a whiskey-blackberry snow cone and pretty fantastic, and you can’t go wrong with a Dark ‘n’ Stormy. The beer and wine list is varied, with everything priced under $10 a glass.
But most impressive was the bar food.
